I am Alessandra Anna Maria Toni, an Italian psychologist, psychotherapist-in-training with a post-Freudian psychodynamic approach, and a mental trainer, based in Vienna and also working in Milan. I specialise in supporting individuals, couples, and groups facing anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and self-esteem issues. My work is driven by a passion for exploring the depths of the human mind and its connections to emotions, creativity, and relationships.

Having experienced firsthand the challenges of relocating abroad, I understand how difficult it can be to adapt to a new culture, navigate identity shifts, and cope with feelings of isolation. This personal experience allows me to connect deeply with those going through similar transitions, offering a safe, empathetic space where they can feel heard and supported.

Apart from that, I have a strong connection to the world of music. As a pianist, composer, and performer, I am familiar with the unique pressures musicians face and I help artists overcome anxiety, creative blocks, and career-related stress.

My background combines psychology, neuroscience, and the arts. I hold a Ph.D. in foreign languages, where I explored human narratives across cultures, and a Master’s degree in psychology with a specialisation in neurosciences. I am currently completing my psychotherapy training at the International School of Specialization with the Imaginative Procedure (SISPI) in Milan, where I also completed a Master in forensic psychopathology. This multidisciplinary perspective allows me to approach human experiences from multiple angles, integrating science and creativity into my therapeutic work.

In my practice, I focus on empathic listening and the uniqueness of each individual. Inspired by psychodynamic theories, I work with the unconscious, a fundamental tool that shape choices, behaviours, and relationships. I see therapy as a transformative journey where individuals can discover inner resources, gain clarity, and create meaningful change.

I offer psychological support in Vienna and in Milan, as well as online therapy worldwide, making sessions accessible wherever you are. Every consultation can be conducted in Italian, English, German, French and Spanish, ensuring language is never a barrier to receiving help. If you are ready to begin a journey of self-discovery, emotional healing, and personal growth, I invite you to get in touch and arrange your first session.

“The imagination is not opposed to the unconscious: it is its most direct expression, the path through which the hidden contents of the psyche rise toward consciousness.”
